Meet Dr. Mickey Barber – Leader in Longevity Medicine and Age Management

Dr. Michale “Mickey” Barber brings more than two decades of experience to the field of longevity medicine and age management. She began her medical career as a board-certified anesthesiologist with specialized training in high-risk obstetrical anesthesia, working in both academic and private practice settings. During this time, she developed a reputation for clinical precision and disciplined decision-making in high-stakes medical environments.

A personal health crisis later reshaped Dr. Barber’s professional path. After becoming seriously ill and stepping away from clinical practice, she embarked on an extensive medical journey as a patient, consulting leading specialists across the country and confronting the limitations of conventional treatment models. Frustrated by the lack of meaningful answers, she began investigating the underlying causes of chronic illness and exploring emerging approaches focused on prevention, metabolic health, and long-term optimization.

That experience ultimately led Dr. Barber to the field of age management and longevity medicine. She became certified in Age Management Medicine and Cenegenics training programs and has since spent more than twenty years developing expertise in preventative, regenerative, and performance-focused medical care. Over the course of her career, she has been invited to speak, contribute, and serve as a medical expert in areas including anti-aging medicine, prevention, and integrative wellness.

Today, Dr. Barber is the Owner and Chief Medical Officer of Better Life Carolinas, where she oversees physician-directed programs focused on advanced diagnostics, hormone optimization, regenerative therapies, and personalized longevity strategies designed to help patients improve healthspan and maintain peak performance as they age.
